Simms Picks up Wisconsin Offer

One of the top juniors in Maryland in the 2016 class, Bethesda (MD) Landon defensive end Keith Simms has added an offer from Wisconsin.

Now that the 2015 class is behind them, the Wisconsin coaching staff is starting to evaluate talent across the nation with its new staff. New secondary coach Daronte Jones is taking over for Chris Beatty on the East Coast and extended a new offer to Bethesda (MD) Landon junior defensive end Keith Simms.

“Coach Jones told me via call,” Simms told BadgerNation. “I was super excited when he told me. He thinks I can fit well into the defensive scheme because of my versatility. I think it is a strong fit. I am very interested in them. They have what I’m looking for in great academics and football. I’m planning on visiting sometime soon. Nothing is set though.”

The 6-3, 225-pound physical defensive end – rated a three-star prospect - holds double digit offers early in his recruitment and plans to make a top list soon, which likely will include the Badgers.

“My recruitment is going great and it has really picked up recently,” said Simms. “I don’t have a top list yet, but you can expect one soon. There is a very high chance Wisconsin makes it.”
