Cook Surprised by Wisconsin Offer

Seeing his offer list spike to 15 in recent days, Miami Central junior safety Jamel Cook added another big offer from Wisconsin.

With the national signing day firmly in the review mirror, many school are starting to ramp up their 2016 recruiting efforts, especially Wisconsin, who offered one of the fastest rising prospects in the nation in Miami Central junior safety Jamel Cook. A lengthy and athletic Sunshine State standout has racked in plenty of offers, but this one from the Badgers was definitely an offer he didn’t see coming.

“(My) coach called and told me the news,” Cook told BadgerNation. “My reaction was surprised. I’m interested in Wisconsin, but I’m keeping my options open. I know they had a great running back recently and I’ll try to visit.”

With wide receiver size at 6-4, 185-pounds and hard-hitting ability, Cook has been a terror for opposing offenses, which has made many coaches eager to work with him. Although, he has been adding new offers daily, he’s keeping an open mind and has no leaders at this moment.

“My recruitment is going good,” said Cook. “The latest is I got offered by West Virginia, and I will be visiting Florida State this weekend. I also don’t have a top list.”
