One of Gary Andersen’s first goals after arriving from Utah State was to installed immediate depth and experience to the roster by recruiting junior college players. Several prospects were offered and committed, but not many went on to land at Madison because of academics.
Now, new Badger outside linebacker coach Tim Tibesar has identified a potential new target that could be a late addition to the 2015 recruiting class in Salinas (CA) Hartnell College sophomore outside linebacker Reggie McGee.Coach Tibesar reached out to the physical linebacker – formerly of Olney (MD) Our Lady Good Counsel - for the first time this past weekend and let him be aware of his importance to the Badger program. “I recently talked to Coach Tim Tibesar; He was just trying to get me on board and was going back to the office and seeing what the other coaches have to say,” McGee told BadgerNation. “I am very interested in Wisconsin. I would love to play for Wisconsin. I like how they are contenders and compete with everyone. I was recently watching a video about how it’s the number one college town, so I would have to say I like how their fans and community are very supportive of the team.” The 6-2, 235 outside linebacker has three years left of eligibility remaining and plans to bring a hard-nosed persona to his next home, which he hopes can be the Badgers.
“If Wisconsin offered, that would be life changing and allow me to showcase my talents on the top stage in the Big Ten,” said McGee. “I would definitely commit. I am a smart football player, who makes plays. I find the ball and I am a leader on the field who works hard. I play with a chip on my shoulder.”
