Robertson Has New Appreciation for Wisconsin

One of the top 100 prospects in the 2016 class, Fort Wayne (IN) Wayne junior defensive end Auston Robertson is a lot more interested in the Badgers now than before he came.

One of the top defensive ends in the Midwest, Fort Wayne (IN) Wayne junior defensive end Auston Robertson made the trek up to Madison to check out the University of Wisconsin. The talented, dynamic Robertson had many highlights throughout his unofficial visit, but wishes he could have sealed off his visit with an offer.

“It went good,” Robertson told BadgerNation. “I went to the basketball game and they showed me around the campus, but I’m confused on why I didn’t get offered. Coach Oglesby talked to me and they just made it seem like they were going to offer, so it was just weird.”

Many schools have already jumped in on the 6-5, 230-pound Robertson, who sits as a four-star recruit, the No. 11 defensive end and the No.90 overall prospect. Holding eight early offers, including ones from Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Ohio State, Robertson is hoping to add Wisconsin to his haul considered his new high level of interest.

“I am a lot now interested in Wisconsin after this visit,” said Robertson. “I didn’t know much about them before. The campus and talking to one of the academic advisors makes me think I could fit good there. It would mean a lot if they did offer, but I’m still looking into the school.”

Robertson doesn’t have any more upcoming visits lined up.

"Ohio State, Michigan State and Notre Dame are my top right now," he said, "but I'm really liking Wisconsin."

Editor's Note: Robertson informed BadgerNation Monday that he was officially offered by Wisconsin.

"I got the offer. I heard over the phone with Coach Oglesby. They said I was offered yesterday, but they worded it differently, so I didn't know I had received an offer."
