Arlington (TX) Lamar junior wide receiver Kofi Boateng has many options to choose from so far in his recruitment, as the explosive wide out has received over 20 offers from around the nation. He added another Wednesday from a Big Ten power in Wisconsin.
“Coach Ted Gilmore - the wide receiver coach - told me that he liked my film and would show it to the staff and they loved it,” Boateng told BadgerNation. “I was excited that I received the offer. They have a good fan base, can move the ball on you willingly in the run game and they are expanding the pass game to make them even more deadly.”
When the thought of visiting Madison was suggested, Boateng knew it was place that he can hopefully check out in the future.
“If I can get a trip planned up there, then I will visit them,” said Boateng. The 6-0, 177 pound speedy Boateng sits as the No. 79 ranked wide out and a three-star prospect by Scout. Despite the high volume of offers, he doesn’t claim any early favorites and has put visits on the back burner until after the spring.
While he did record 66 catches for 1,023 yards and 15 touchdowns along with rushing 14 times for 158 yards and two touchdowns, he is training daily this offseason to vault his game up another notch.
“The thing I’m working on is better body control when I’m in the air and getting in and out of cuts/breaks quicker,” said Boateng. “I am working this off-season to improve on those things. I am working on feet drills to get my feet quicker and drop my hips more and high pointing the ball more.”
