With this first cut, the 6-foot-0, 177-pound wide receiver says Arizona State, Arkansas, California, Kansas State, Maryland, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt and Washington are his top group, although it is subject to change. He added that Colorado and Kansas are under consideration and that he’s still willing to listen to other schools. Right now, Boateng said Ole Miss is the No. 1 school on his list.
Boateng used the spring to see which coaches really need him. This summer, he said he will use visits this summer to learn more about the programs’ offensive systems.
“I just want to see how I will fit into their offense,” Boateng said. “That’s really the main thing I’m looking for.”
One school he said he will visit will be Arizona State along with Ole Miss and Arkansas. He said he will visit this summer but does not have a date set.
Already this offseason, Boateng said he made a trip to Texas. On that trip, he said he got to have an in depth, in person conversation with the Texas wide receivers coach. Boateng said he got to watch some practice film with the Texas coach and got a better sense of how the wide receivers work in the Texas program.
After this first cut, Boateng said his recruitment plan could go in a couple directions. This summer he said he will focus on his visits.
After his visits he said he will either cut down his list to five, three or make his commitment. He did not say when the exact date will be when he cuts down his list or makes his commitment.
He said he might make those decisions either at the end of the summer, the beginning of his senior football season or at the end of his season.
