According to Simpson’s father, who cited the longevity and stability of the Wisconsin program as major factors, the four-star Simpson will take an official visit to Wisconsin’s campus this weekend.
“We’re coming Friday and leaving Sunday,” Quincey Simpson told BadgerNation. “We’re excited to see what they have to offer.”
Wisconsin’s visit is sandwiched around two important officials for Simpson, as he went to Illinois last weekend and will go to Miami next weekend. After returning from South Beach, the family plans to sit down and make a decision. Iowa State and Pittsburgh are also in the mix.
Rated a four-star prospect and the No.55 overall prospect in the country by Scout.com, Simpson averaged 19.2 points and seven assists per game at Nike Peach Jam at the EYBL finals this past July. Led mostly by the recruiting efforts of assistant coach Lamont Paris, Wisconsin extended a scholarship offer to him last week.
The Badgers have one available scholarship in the 2016 class. Simpson and Gig Harbor (WA) Peninsula four-star point guard JaQuori McLaughlin, who will take an official visit to campus later this month, have emerged as the top two targets.
