ARLINGTON, Texas - Joel Stave did the best he could.
With no running game to speak of against the talented Alabama front, Wisconsin's senior quarterback took to the air. Hitting eight different receivers, Stave completed 26 of 39 passes for 228 yards, two touchdowns and one late interception with the game already decided.
In the first half, Stave went 14-for-16 for 149 yards and one score."He got the ball out of his hand quick; we knew we had to do that with their front guys," said senior receiver Alex Erickson, who led UW with 73 receiving on six catches, including a 6-yard touchdown. "He knew where he wanted to go every single play, just pre-snap reads. He looked comfortable out there."
