Recap: Wisconsin Downs Troy 28-3

Wisconsin has rushed for three touchdowns from three different sources and saw its defense deliver another dominating performance in a 28-3 victory over Troy.

MADISON - After getting pushed around in the opener, the University of Wisconsin is starting to see its defense show its teeth.

It wasn't the prettiest performances offensively, but Wisconsin's defense delivered another impressive outing in a 21-3 victory over Troy at Camp Randall Stadium.

Facing an offense averaging 32.5 points and 339.5 yards per game, the Badgers limited Troy to 255 and its lowest point total in almost a calendar year. Wisconsin delivered seven tackles for loss, three sacks and three pass breakups.

Joel Stave continued his tremendous start to 2015 by completing 13 of 17 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown. Stave also ran for a 4-yard touchdown - one of three rushing touchdowns in the game for Wisconsin - in the final minute of the first half to give the Badgers a 14-3 heading into the locker room.

With Corey Clement (left groin) missing his second straight game, Taiwan Deal and Dare Ogunbowale got the majority of the work. Deal registered a career high in yards (16-for-84) while Ogunbowale (14-for-75) got things started for the Badgers with a 17-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Wisconsin (2-1) plays game three of its four game homestand next Saturday against Hawaii at 7 p.m., the first home night game for the Badgers since 2012.
