It appears Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard is no longer willing to bank a scholarship for the 2017 class.
On the first day of his official visit to Madison, Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy senior small forward Aleem Ford tweeted that he has been offered by Wisconsin.
Ford is currently on campus with teammate D'Mitrik Trice, a senior point guard who the Badgers offered at the start of their spring recruiting period. The Badgers originally went to IMG Academy to watch Trice, who they had been monitoring for several weeks.
It was there they saw Ford, a 6-7, 180-pound forward who can play inside or out, spread the floor and defend.
Holding a handful of mid-major offers and a power five offer from Rutgers, Ford has already taken official visits to Hofstra and Richmond and will possibly go to Butler next weekend. Michigan has also showed some late interest.
Wisconsin has two available scholarships for the 2016 class.
