Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage CB Joshua Turner said Wisconsin is now the team to beat

After getting a scholarship offer from Wisconsin on Tuesday, Delray Beach (FL) American Heritage cornerback Joshua Turner said the Badgers have already vaulted to the No. 1 spot on his list.

The initial reactions from Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage junior cornerback Joshua Turner about his Wisconsin offer tell the whole story.

While he currently has offers from Navy, Army and Ohio, among others, Turner said none top the Wisconsin offer, which he calls "ridiculous" and "game-changing."

"Wisconsin is only school that sticks out,” Turner told BadgerNation. “Their cornerbacks coach (Jim Leonhard) told me he loves my size and game. I can't wait to visit this summer to meet staff. I have been in consistent contact with them and even though it's a new relationship we get along great. The staff is very friendly and that appeals to me."

Turner plans to commit before next year but plans to visit multiple schools first. After visiting with Wisconsin defensive line coach Inoke Breckterfield at his school, visiting Madison is a must.

"My top schools are Wisconsin, Navy and Army, in that order,” Turner said.  “It's still up in the air but Wisconsin will be hard to beat. I can't wait to visit all these schools and that will finalize my decision, but right now Wisconsin is the school that sticks out to me the most. They have a great track record and they are a powerhouse college."

At 6-foot and 175 pounds, Turner uses his athleticism and physicality to lock down the secondary.

"I love playing the bump and run game," Turner said. "It's how I play. I am going to annoy you and get in your head. I'm going to do my best to lock you down. I still need to work on my agility and football IQ, but I have the athleticism to play with anybody, and I think schools admire that, including Wisconsin.”
