Wisconsin opens up its 2016 fall camp Monday morning going heavy on fundamentals

A sign that the 2016 season is quickly approaching, Wisconsin opened up its 2016 fall camp Monday. Hear from head coach Paul Chryst and get a full practice report inside.

MADISON – There were no pads, no decals on the helmets and no contact.

But it was impossible to hide the smile on Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst’s face after the first day of fall practice, even though he was speaking to the media for the second straight day.

“I did miss getting on the field with the players,” Chryst said after UW’s two-and-a-half hour practice. “It was fun to be able to get out there and work with them. Obviously first day and they had a good energy to it, but we’ve got a lot of work to do.”
