No.8-Seed Wisconsin upsets Top-Seed Villanova in a 65-62 heart stopper

Badger Nation Photographer Max Siker showcases these images from Wisconsin's 65-62 victory over Villanova in the second round of the N.C.A.A. tournament at Buffalo's Keybank Center.

Wisconsin Badgers meet the No.1 ranked Villanova Wildcats for the chance to advance to their fourth consecutive Sweet Sixteen.

Bronson Koenig connected for 7-11 shots from the field with three big hits from beyond the arc.  He scored 17 points but was limited due to foul trouble.

Nigel Hayes attacks from the wing to connect on the game-winning shot, breaking the 62-62 tie.  He scored a game-high 19 points with a game-high 8 rebounds.

Vitto Brown finally connected from downtown going 3-for-6 with a game total of 10.  He also hit a crucial free-throw which put the Badgers up three.

Zak Showalter harassed a high-powered Villanova offense and stayed on the floor nearly the entire game.  He scored 4 points but missed 4 shots from permimter.

Ethan Happ is jubilant after the game after making a key stop on the final Villanova set possession.  He got into early foul trouble and was limited to 23 minutes but still managed to score 12 points.

Nigel Hayes denies Josh Hart on a crucial late second half possession.  The Badgers presented matchup problems with the Top Cats with their size.

On the last stand, the defense was a literal Hart-stopper keeping the lead for good.  Vitto Brown seized the ball and was fouled immediately.

Star-pupil Ethan Happ embraces his coach Greg Gard after a hard fought win.

Next up for the Badgers in the Round of 16, the winner of the Virginia Cavaliers and the Florida Gators on Friday March 24 in Madison Square Garden.
