Columbus (OH) Harvest Prep defensive end Isaiah Mullens gives Wisconsin high marks after his visit

Getting a chance to watch Wisconsin scrimmage on Friday, Columbus (OH) Harvest Prep defensive end Isaiah Mullens gave the Badgers high marks.

With Kimberly (WI) High junior Boyd Dietzen already committed, Wisconsin is looking to add one more elite-level defensive end prospect and have used its spring practice schedule to get many of those options to campus.

Considering the Badgers were his first Big Ten offer, Columbus Harvest Prep defensive end Isaiah Mullens wanted to make sure to take advantage of UW’s offer to have him visit Friday for a spring scrimmage.

“I loved it!” Mullens told BadgerNation. “I saw the facilities, the campus and met the coaches. All are great guys. I loved the practice and the way they work. What I really loved was how disciplined they we're and well coached they we're.”

Mullens describes his relationship with offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph and defensive line coach Inoke Breckterfield as “very close” and liked the fact that he would be an end in Wisconsin’s 3-4 scheme.

“(Their scheme) fits very well with me,” Mullens said. “I’m very familiar with it.”

Spending the first part of practice watching the way Wisconsin’s defensive line worked, Mullens got a chance to interact with current linemen on the roster and speak with incoming commit Aaron Vopal.

“They knew about me,” Mullens said. “They were all laid back guys and very hardworking.”

Iowa State is Mullens only other Power Five offer from his list of 10 scholarships, but he recently visited Michigan State and West Virginia.

“My top group right now is Wisconsin, Toledo, Western Michigan, Kent state and Bowling Green,” he said.

Mullens wants to decide before the start of his senior year.
