Wisconsin men's soccer tops Illinois-Chicago

Badgers move to .500 this season heading into Big Ten play

Wisconsin's men's soccer team defeated Illinois-Chicago 2-0 Wednesday evening at the McClimon Track and Soccer Complex. The Badgers' Erol Goknur tallied a a goal and an assist in the victory.

The win moves Wisconsin to 5-5-0 this season. The Flames are now 5-3-0.

Goknur began the scoring at 27:09, and helped conclude the scoring with an assist to Nick Van Sicklen at 68:25.

Wisconsin goaltender Jake Settle made three saves in his first collegiate start, earning the shutout.

The Badgers next take the field at Sunday in their Big Ten opener against Ohio State. The match takes place at noon at McClimon.
