Defending NCAA champion USC (16-0) remains atop the coaches poll for the eighth straight week and still receives all 65 first-place votes. Hawaii (17-1) and Florida (18-1) remain ranked second and third, respectively, but the rest of the top five has changed. Georgia Tech (18-0), which was previously fifth, moves up one spot to fourth while California (16-0) moves up four spots to fifth. Former top-five teams Stanford (13-3) and Nebraska (15-2) fell to seventh and eighth, respectively.
The Big Ten Conference has three teams in the top 25. Penn State (16-2) falls two spots to 13th while Michigan State (11-5) fell two spots to 18th. Wisconsin (12-5) comes in at No. 23. Minnesota (11-7) and Michigan (12-5) are the top two teams that receive points.
The Badgers are in a five-way tie for second place in the Big Ten at 4-2. Wisconsin takes on surprising Purdue (11-5, 4-2), which is also tied for second place in the league, on Friday at 7 p.m., in the Intercollegiate Athletic Facility in West Lafayette, Ind. On Saturday, Wisconsin faces off against Indiana (9-8, 2-4) at 7 p.m. in the University Gym in Bloomington, Ind. The Boilermakers will host the Hoosiers on Wednesday.
