Wisconsin sophomore forward Alando Tucker underwent surgery on Monday to repair a fractured right foot. The surgery, conducted by team orthopedist Dr. John Orwin, was a success and Tucker will begin the rehabilitation process with the UW Sports Medicine Staff. He is expected to miss approximately 8-10 weeks.
Tucker played in all 32 games as a freshman, starting 27 of them. He finished the season third on the team in both scoring (12.0 ppg.) and rebounding (5.9 rpg.). A member of the Big Ten's all-freshman team, Tucker paced the conference in offensive rebounding (2.69 per game) and set a UW record for total offensive boards with 86. His .533 field goal percentage (139-261) topped the Badgers a year ago.
Wisconsin opens practice this Saturday. The Badgers' first exhibition game is on Saturday, Nov. 8 and they open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 21 at Penn.
