  • The last four Wisconsin-Purdue games have been decided by a total of 23 points. The winner of three contests prior to Saturday's affair has gone on to play in the Rose Bowl that season.


  • Wisconsin punt returner Jim Leonhard has 763 career punt return yards which rank him third on the all-time list.  The 63-yard punt return for touchdown was his third career punt return. It is his second of the season.


  • Linebacker Alex Lewis had a career-high five quarterback sacks for a school-record 39 yards in losses. Lewis' 6.5 tackles for loss is a school record and the 42 yards lost is the second most just one yard behind Darryl Sims versus Northwestern in 1982.


  • Wisconsin's senior receiver Lee Evans is now ranked ninth in the Big Ten in career receiving yards with 2,927. He had three receptions for 76 yards against Purdue and has not caught a pass in a school record 33 straight games.


  • Boilermaker receiver John Standeford moved into third place on the Big Ten career receiving list with 3,270 yards. He is the all-time career receptions leader at Purdue.


  • Purdue had 27 first downs to 12 for the Badgers. The Boilermakers had 411 passing yards to the Badgers 196. The Badgers had 97 rushing yards and Purdue had 66.



  • Schweigert registered his first career sack Saturday.


  • Shaun Phillips' 3.5 sacks were one shy of a school single-game record.
