Volleyball No. 23

Wisconsin slipped one spot in the USA Today/American Volleyball Coaches Association women's volleyball Division I poll (released Monday) to No. 23. The Badgers next take the court Friday at Northwestern and Saturday at No. 25 Illinois.

In addition to Wisconsin and the Illini, No. 16 Penn State and No. 24 Minnesota represent the Big Ten in the poll.

Changes in UW Athletic Department

Several administrative changes have been made in the organizational structure of the University of Wisconsin Division of Intercollegiate Athletics according to Deputy Athletic Director Jamie Pollard.

Linda Callow, the division's Business Manager since 1999, will be leaving the Athletic Department to assume a similar position in the School of Nursing.  John Jentz, who has served as an Assistant Athletic Director and Sports Administrator at UW for the past three years will assume Callow's duties beginning Dec. 1.

Jentz will continue to oversee the men's and women's soccer and women's softball programs in addition to taking on the additional duties of directing the Budget and Finance staff.

The other programs that Jentz formerly supervised at UW will be divided between Senior Associate Athletic Director Cheryl Marra – she'll supervise the men's and women's rowing teams – and Assistant Athletic Director Terry Gawlik, who will take on responsibilities for men's and women's swimming.
