Minnesota-Duluth's front line and freshman goaltender were too much for the Badgers Friday night.
Wisconsin outshot Minnesota-Duluth 35-19, but Bassel, Switzerland native Riitta Schaublin saved every Badger attempt and Bulldog first line forwards Jenny Potter, Caroline Ouellette and Jessica Koizumi combined for three goals.
Koizumi opened the scoring, notching a power play goal five minutes, 35 seconds into the opening period on Minnesota-Duluth's second shot of the game. Just 44 seconds and only two shots later Potter made it 2-0 for her 13th goal of the season. Ouellette wrapped up the scoring with a second period goal. Potter and Ouellette added two assists each for three-point evenings.
