Wisconsin continues to ride winning wave

Badgers score two third period goals to pull out win, push unbeaten streak to a dozen games

Wisconsin's men's hockey team defeated Denver 3-1 Saturday night, marking the Badgers' sixth consecutive weekend without a loss.

Badger forward Ryan MacMurchy netted the game-winner at 3:17 in the third period and assisted on Jake Dowell's empty-net goal that sealed the victory with just nine seconds remaining.

Wisconsin dominated the action in the first period, outshooting Denver 14-5 but could not crack the scoreboard. Tom Gilbert, though, broke the scoreless tie early in the second period, beating Denver goalie Adam Berkhoel gloveside.

Badger netminder Bernd Brückler yielded just one goal Saturday, a power play tally by Denver's Brett Skinner. Brückler finished with 22 saves.
