The Badgers (5-7 overall, 0-3 Big Ten) will look to build off a near upset of Penn State (11-3, 4-0) with three contests this week, beginning tonight when Wisconsin hosts Illinois (7-7, 1-2). Coach Lisa Stone is looking for her first career Big Ten win.

After opening the Big Ten season with a pair of home wins, the Badgers (11-2 overall, 2-0 conference) hit the road to take on the Boilermakers (11-4, 1-1). Wisconsin has won six consecutive conference games dating back to last season.

One week after the Badgers' Western Collegiate Hockey Association unbeaten streak was snapped the team faces its final non-conference challenge of the season. With 21 points to its credit, Wisconsin holds a tenuous one-point lead in the conference standings, with series against top-notch teams such as defending conference champion Colorado College (10 points), defending national champion Minnesota (13), top ranked North Dakota (20) and St. Cloud State (19) on the horizon.

The women's hockey team earned a pair of ties against Northeastern last weekend, in its first action in more than a month. Wisconsin (12-4-2 overall, 8-4-0 WCHA), now hosts perennial national champion UMD (10-7-1, 6-4-0), with which the Badgers split prior in Duluth prior to the holiday break. Last weekend, the Bulldogs became the first team to beat No. 1 Minnesota (14-1-1, 10-1-1) all season.

Men's Track – Saturday, Jan. 17, at Panther Open in Cedar Falls, Iowa


The Wisconsin men's track and field team continues its indoor season this weekend as it travels to Cedar Falls, Iowa for the Panther Open. Two field events will be held on Friday beginning at 7 p.m. All other field events start at 11 a.m. on Saturday with running events starting at 11:30 a.m.
