Wisconsin senior Freddie Owens will not play in Wednesday's home game with Michigan. As expected, his injured left foot was re-evaluated Tuesday and the UW sports medicine staff determined that he will not play against the Wolverines.
Junior forward Zach Morley will reap his first career start in Owens' place. The 6-foot-8 Morley is averaging 9.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.
Owens was walking with a boot on his foot during practice Tuesday afternoon but no further information was available regarding the nature of his injury. His status is considered day-to-day.
Owens has been in the starting lineup for all of the Badgers' 14 games this season and is averaging 8.6 points per game.
