QB Says Badgers On List

Wisconsin went into Illinois and nabbed the best signal caller in the Land of Lincoln last year. Will they do it again this year?

Lisle (Ill.) Benet Academy quarterback Dan Lefevour will be a prospect to watch in 2004.

Lefevour passed for 1,400 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior and rushed for 600 yards, scoring 16 times on the ground.

"I put Dan in as our starting quarterback during the seventh game of his sophomore year and we've never looked back." Said Benet coach Gary Goforth.

"Danny is a winner. He has a good head on his shoulders, makes good reads and good decisions.

"Dan has a strong arm. If he needed to work on one thing, I'd say he needs to throw that deep out on a consistent basis. The deep out is the toughest throw to make on a football field, especially at the collegiate level because of timing and arm strength.

"Dan is a D-1 prospect, no question about it. I've been getting mail on a daily basis for him." Goforth said.

Lefevour says the mail is starting to pour in.

"Wisconsin, Illinois, Northwestern and Arizona State are starting to send mail on a regular basis." Lefevour said.

"I don't have any offers yet. My favorites would be Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Northern Illinois and Michigan.

"I'm going to camp at Purdue and Wisconsin this summer."

Lefevour also letters in basketball. He carries a 3.0 GPA in the classroom and plans on taking his ACT in April.
