Bakke doubtful for Thursday

Forward injured in practice Tuesday

UW women's basketball player Kjersten Bakke injured her right knee during practice Tuesday and is doubtful for the game against Illinois Thursday. The 5-foot-11 sophomore forward has started six games this season and is averaging 2.3 points and 3.6 rebounds a game.

"We'll definitely be missing something but we have to pick up the slack," UW sophomore forward Jordan Wilson said. "Just like coach said, we need to bring up our depth chart and everybody has to step up. Bakke went from playing every position…someone else needs to step in and we need to fill in the loose pieces because we're going to be missing a big part from her."

This is Bakke's second injury this season. Back in November, an injured right shoulder kept her out of practice and games from Nov. 24-Nov. 29. She also missed the team's Dec. 22 match-up against UWM due to her injury.
