Wisconsin women's basketball recruits teams' one win from state

Danielle Ward and Jolene Anderson are both one win from making a trip to Madison, before they don the Cardinal and White next fall.


Ward scored 17 points as her Milwaukee King squad beat Milwaukee Pius 45-44 in overtime Friday night to advance to a Division 1 sectional title game with Milwaukee Washington Saturday night. King (20-3) is 2-0 versus Washington (17-5) this season.


Anderson, who earlier this season set the Wisconsin girls' basketball all-time single game, season and career scoring marks, helped South Shore advance to a Division 4 sectional title game in a 77-49 win over Birchwood Friday night.  


South Shore (22-1) has now won its three postseason games by a combined 172 points and will face Owen-Withee (20-2) in a sectional title game Saturday night.


Anderson is averaging 37.3 points per game.
