Wisconsin's men's tennis match against Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Fla. Wednesday came down to the final games of the final set.
The Badgers and Owls were knotted at 3-3 when Wisconsin junior Alex Kasarov took the court against FAU sophomore Antonello Magris in the No. 1 singles match. Magris won the first set 7-5, but Kasarov dominated the second 6-2. Magris, though, narrowly defeated Kasarov in the decisive third set, 6-4, claiming victory for the Owls.
Wisconsin fell to 4-5 with the loss, while Florida Atlantic improved to 8-5.
The Badgers took the doubles point, but lost the first three singles matches of the afternoon before sophomores Alex Conti and Ward Bortz earned three-set wins at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. Magris, though, thwarted Wisconsin's come-from-behind effort.
