Wisconsin won its first ever Big Ten Tournament Championship in thrilling fashion over the weekend. In games at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, the Badgers topped Minnesota, 66-52, then outlasted Michigan State 68-66 before putting an exclamation point on their Big Ten year with a 70-53 drubbing of top-seeded Illinois in the Conference Championship game.
Wisconsin (24-6) was granted a No. 6 seed in the East Rutherford Region for the NCAA Tournament and will begin play Friday against the Spiders (20-12).

The Badgers have eight wrestlers competing in the NCAA meet: Tom Clum is seeded fourth at 125 and Ed Gutnik is No. 11 at 133. Also participating are Tyler Laudon (141), Kelly Flaherty (165), Ralph DeNisco (174), Brady Reinke (184), Ryan Flaherty (197) and Jareck Horton (heavyweight). Tyler Turner (157) is a Big Ten alternate.
Women's swimming: Wisconsin at NCAA Championships, Thursday, March 18 through Saturday, March 20.
Nine swimmers are representing the Badgers in a total of 19 events: Bethany Pendleton, Susan Johnson, Carly Piper, Sarah Hernandez, Amalia Sarnecki, Anna Trinidad, Shannon VanCuren, Emily Pisula and Molly Buhrandt.
Women's golf: Wisconsin at San Antonio Shootout, Friday, March 19 through Sunday March 21.
The Badgers play three 18-hole rounds at the tournament, hosted by Baylor University.
Softball: Wisconsin at Capital Classic in Sacramento, Calif., Friday, March 19 through Sunday March 21
The softball team fell to 13-9 after a 3-1 loss at No. 4 California Tuesday. This weekend the Badgers will square off against Long Beach State, Nevada, Tennessee State, Sacramento State and St. Mary's.
Men's and women's track: Wisconsin at Northridge Invitational, Saturday, March 20 in Northridge, Calif.
Following last weekend's NCAA Indoor Championships, the Badgers take a spring training trip to California, culminating with the Northridge Invitational. The meet begins at 11 a.m.
Women's tennis: Wisconsin at Florida International, Friday, March 19 at 1 p.m.
Volleyball: Wisconsin at Central Florida Tournament in Orlando, Fla., Saturday, March 20.
The spring exhibition season continues with matches against host Central Florida, Kansas State, Tampa and Florida A&M.

The openweight and lightweight women's crew teams are training in Florida over Wisconsin's spring break. Training concludes with the match against Central Florida and Columbia.
