McCoy is wide open

Rico McCoy, a 6-foot-2 212-pound linebacker from Washington D.C. is starting to get a lot of attention. After a great junior season, McCoy is ready to step up as a senior and show everyone what the fuss is all about.

Rico McCoy has a long list of schools recruiting him. He's getting tons of letters everyday from the who's who of big time East Coast and Midwest college football programs after recording 120 tackles, five sacks, and three forced fumbles in his junior football campaign at St. John's College High School. "I'm getting a lot of handwritten letters from a lot of schools," McCoy said. "There's Miami, Ohio State, Pitt, Boston College, Maryland, Syracuse, Wisconsin, Virginia, Penn State. I could go on."

To go along with the dozens of schools contacting him, McCoy also has a few offers. "Maryland, Pitt, Boston College, and Syracuse have all offered so far," he said. "I'm pretty much open right now, but I do favor the schools that have offered me."

It appears that McCoy is going to take his time in the process. He has no real plans on deciding early. "I'll probably wait until the end of the season to decide on a school," he said. "I think I'm going to go to Miami's camp this summer, and probably to the Nike Camp at Penn State too. I'm just going to take my time with the whole process."

McCoy currently has a 2.6 grade point average and is scheduled to take the SAT college entrance exam this weekend.
