After the first day of competition, senior golfer Malinda Johnson is tied for first at the Big Ten Championships in Columbus, Ohio, Friday.
Johnson and Ohio State senior Allison Hanna each shot a 72 and a 73 in the first two rounds to put them in first with 145 after Friday's competition.
Ohio State is leading all teams with a 600 after the first two rounds, while Wisconsin is third with 611 strokes.
Sophomore Lindsay McMillan also had a productive first day, in sixth place with a 151.
No other Badgers cracked the top 20. Freshman Nicki Morse is in 24th with a 157 and junior Sami Forster is in 50th with a 164.
Wisconsin will return to the course Saturday morning for the third 18-hole round and will complete the championship with another 18-hole round Sunday.
