Dace Richardson is a hot prospect so far this season. The 6-foot-6, 300-pound lineman has a host of offers already this season, including, he said, "Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Michigan, Michigan State, UCLA, Maryland, Purdue, Northwestern, Iowa State, Boston College."

Richardson visited Notre Dame for junior day last Sunday. "I had a great time there," he said. "I liked it a lot. I liked the new facilities they'll have there. I got to speak to (defensive line coach Greg Mattison) for a long time. He showed me around. I also spoke with their strength coach, and then we met with (head coach Tyrone Willingham)."

What did Richardson think of Willingham? "He was a really nice guy," Richardson said. "We had a pretty good conversation. I think he'll bring the program back up to where it was."

Richardson attended junior day with his Dad. "He really liked it," Dace Richardson said. "He liked the coaches. He knows that Notre Dame is one of the elite teams."

The summer will be busy for Richardson. "I know I'm going to some camps, but I just haven't decided where I'll go yet," he said. "We are trying to figure that out right now."

Do not expect and early decision for Richardson. "I don't think I'll decide until after my season," he said. "I plan to take my visits. Academics will be very important in my decision. Also, team chemistry will be important.

Comments: Richardson said he was wide open at this point. He did seem impressed with Notre Dame and the recent offer. He is obviously a top target and one to keep an eye on all season.
