Senior golfer Malinda Johnson is tied for 38th after Friday's second round of the NCAA Central Regional. Johnson shot a 77 on the par-71 course for a two-day total 156. She shot a 79 Thursday and sat in a tie for 53rd place at the end of the first day.


The top eight teams and the top two additional individuals at the regional, held on Illinois State's campus in Normal, Ill., qualify for the NCAA Championships. After two rounds, the second-place individuals not attached to a top-eight team are Arkansas' Amanda McCurdy and Michigan's Laura Olin, who are each tied for 10th at 151.


Arizona sophomore Erica Blasberg is currently in first place among all individuals with a 141 overall, after shooting a 68 in the first round and a 73 in the second round.
