Worcester, Mass. is home to defensive line prospect James McGillicuddy. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound McGillicuddy is starting to gain interest from school across the country.
McGillicuddy had an impressive junior season. "I had 80 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, six sacks and two forced fumbles," he said. "I just ran a 5.04 (40-yard dash) at the Penn State Nike camp."
A number of schools have been recruiting McGillicuddy. "I have offers from Boston College, Duke, Syracuse and UConn right now," he said. "Notre Dame, Maryland, Wisconsin, Michigan, Virginia, Mississippi State, Oregon and Stanford are some of the schools recruiting me."
Quite a few coaches have already called or stopped by his school. "Boston College, Syracuse, UConn, Maryland and Duke have been by the school," he said. "Boston College, Syracuse, UConn, Notre Dame and Mississippi State have called me."
James has also made some summer plans. "I've already been to Virginia and Boston College on summer visits," he said. "I plan to attend Notre Dame camp this summer, and I'll stop by Duke for an unofficial visit there."
Do not expect an early decision from McGillicuddy. "I plan to take my time with this," he said. "I'll probably take most of my visits. Academics will be very important in my decision. The football program and doing things the right way will also be important."
Does James have a top five? "I'd say I have a top four: Boston College, Notre Dame, Harvard and Duke," he said.
