Wisconsin defensive end names favorites

Raymond Henderson had a huge junior season and finished May with 16 scholarship offers

Raymond "Game Time" Henderson, a 6-foot-5, 255-pound defensive end from Oak Creek, Wis., is one of the top prospects in the Midwest and he is also a candidate for National "Hot 100" recognition.

Every year there seems to be one or two prospects who are an absolute joy to interview and Henderson definitely passes the grade this year.

For a young man to have scholarship offers from the likes of Oklahoma, Miami and Tennessee to be so humble is really extraordinary these days.

Henderson is also well spoken. He told us who has offered him and who his current favorites are.

"I have 16 scholarship offers right now," Henderson said. "Notre Dame, Miami, Ohio State, Ball State, Northwestern, Indiana, Minnesota, Iowa, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, LSU and Penn State have all offered. I have three more but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

"I want to go on record saying that I haven't narrowed things down yet but I'm looking at LSU, Penn State, Arkansas, Tennessee, Iowa, Notre Dame and Miami the hardest right now.

"I'd love to hear from UCLA. If they offered me, I'd definitely listen. I'm going to visit a lot of schools this summer and my brother is going to help me narrow some things down.

"Iowa is going to be my first stop this summer."

Henderson played opposite of All-American and Miami Hurricane recruit Rhyan Anderson last year.

"Game Time" had 104 tackles, 19 sacks and 17 tackles for loss as a junior.

Henderson is the teammate of All-American candidate Travis Beckum. Quite a nice tandem for Oak Creek coach Joe Koch in 2004.

Henderson carries a 4.0 GPA in the classroom and he will take his ACT test June 12.
