Beloit junior commits to Marquette

Anthony Green becomes Golden Eagles' first 2006 commitment

Anthony Green, a 6-foot-4 guard from Beloit (Wis.) Memorial High School has committed to Marquette, according to his AAU coach, Ritchie Davis. Green is Golden Eagles' first commitment in the Class of 2006. He is currently ranked No. 4 in Wisconsin's Class of 2006 by the Wisconsin Scouting Services, Wisconsin Basketball News/Yearbook and Wishoops.net.

Green was the second leading scorer for a Beloit Memorial team that finished runner-up in the Big 8 (Southern Wisconsin Conference) as well as advancing to the WIAA Division 1 state quarterfinals this past spring. He plays for the Fox Valley Skillz during the spring, summer and fall.

Marquette University is also strongly pursuing many of his AAU teammates including 6-1 point guard Trevon Hughes, from Delafield St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, 6-10 center J.P. Gavinski from Wisconsin Dells, 6-8 forward Keaton Nankivil from Madison Memorial and 6-1 guard Scott Christopherson from Melrose-Mindoro.
