Rene Bourque has signed a free-agent contract with the Chicago Blackhawks, the team announced Friday. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Bourque, a 6-foot-3, 217-pound left wing, led the University of Wisconsin with 16 goals, 20 assists and 36 points in 42 games as a senior captain last season, helping the Badgers reach the NCAA Tournament.
Bourque also led UW in scoring (27 points) and goals (19) his junior season. He tallied 12 goals and seven assists his sophomore season and 10 goals and five assists as a freshman for 97 career points in 153 games.
