Ryan MacMurchy, a junior winger on the Wisconsin men's hockey team, can resume practicing with the team but will be suspended from one game this season.
MacMurchy had been suspended indefinitely since Sept. 7 for his alleged role in a fight at the Kollege Klub, a downtown Madison bar, early on the morning of Sept. 5.
Bruce Jones, chair of the University of Wisconsin's Student-Athlete Discipline Policy Appeals Committee, announced the result of MacMurchy's appeal Monday afternoon.
MacMurchy will serve a one-game suspension during the 2004-05 regular season, pending additional information that might cause the Appeals Committee to re-evaluate his situation, according to Jones.
He is eligible to participate in all practice sessions. Wisconsin began preseason workouts last week. Practice officially begins Oct. 2.
