Two visits set For N.J. player

Wisconsin has been in contact with receiver/safety Danny Oquendo

In his first game of the year, Hackensack (N.J.) safety and wide receiver Danny Oquendo got off to a great start. For his five favorites, that is a great omen for his future. They just have to win his services, and that decision could come soon.

"I had seven catches for 110 yards and about eight tackles," says the 6-foot-2, 180 pounder. "We won 40-6 against Bloomfield."

After a busy May and summer, Oquendo was not ready for the quiet August, but recruiting is picking back up.

"It's been slow lately, but colleges are starting to call," he said. "Maryland, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Boston College, and Wisconsin have called."

Oquendo says his current top five is Maryland, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Boston College, and Pittsburgh. He attended the Rutgers game against Michigan State, saying "it was a pretty intense game," and he has two official visits set up.

"I'm currently setting them up. The weekend of December 10th is Maryland, the weekend of December 17th is for Rutgers, and sometime during the season I am going to take two more visits," he said. "I might make a verbal sometime in October, but I'm not going to sign anything."
