The Wisconsin men's cross country team is the No. 1 team in the nation, according to the Mondo Men's Cross Country Poll, which is conducted by the United States Cross Country Coaches Association. The poll was released Tuesday. Stanford, the 2003 national champion, is No. 2.
Wisconsin is not the only Big Ten team to grace the 25-team poll. Michigan is at the No. 6 spot, while Indiana is No. 12 and Minnesota is No. 16. Ohio State is tied for 22nd with Georgia.
The Badgers will head to Minneapolis for the Roy Griak Invitational Saturday, facing Big Ten foes Minnesota and Ohio State, in addition to No. 14 Providence and No. 21 Oregon.
