Jim Leonhard shared Wisconsin's defensive player of the week honor with defensive end Erasmus James Monday for their performances in the Badgers' 16-3 win over Penn State Saturday.
Leonhard had three tackles, his first interception of the season and a remarkable four pass breakups, including one on a first-and-goal play. The interception was Leonhard's 19th of his career, the second most in team history.
James, who was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, has earned a share of the team honor in each of Wisconsin's four games. He had five tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery Saturday. James shared the honor with the rest of the defensive line in week one and with corner Scott Starks in weeks two and three.
