Stocco, Bernstein share team award

Badger quarterback and fullback have won a combined five team awards this season

University of Wisconsin quarterback John Stocco and fullback Matt Bernstein shared the team's offensive player of the week award Monday, for their performances in the Badgers' 38-14 win over Minnesota.

Stocco completed 16 of 26 passes for a career high 297 yards and a touchdown Saturday. He also ran for two scores and led the Badgers to touchdown drives on each of their first four possessions.

Bernstein ran 11 times for 37 yards and helped cleared a path for tailback Anthony Davis, who picked up 124 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries. Bernstein made key blocks throughout the game, including one on each of Davis' scoring runs.

After Minnesota pulled to within 31-14, Stocco and Bernstein were key in a 15-play, 80-yard drive that salted the game away. Bernstein ran for six yards on a fourth-and-one from the Minnesota 29 and Stocco scored from two yards out on a naked bootleg.

Stocco has won three offensive player of the week awards this year, all in the past four game weeks. It was Bernstein's second honor this year.
