Jamison wide open

Thornton defensive end has three scholarship offers, seven-school list

Terrance Jamison, a defensive end at Thornton Township High School in Harvey, Ill., said Monday he is considering seven schools, refuting speculation that he had verbally committed to Michigan State.

"No, that's not true," Jamison said, when asked if he had committed to the Spartans.

Michigan State, however, is one of three football programs that has offered Jamison a scholarship, joining Wisconsin and Northwestern. In addition to those schools, Jamison said he is also considering Notre Dame, Michigan, Purdue and Indiana.

Any five of those seven schools could receive Jamison's official visits.

"It's an even list," he said. "When I take my visits, then I'll be ranking them."

Jamison said his official visit destinations are up in the air but he is leaning towards taking one to Wisconsin.

The Wildcats ended their season Saturday with a 31-10 loss to Sandburg in the second round of the Class 8A state playoffs, finishing the year 8-3. Jamison estimated that he had 15 sacks this year.

"I think [the season] went pretty good," Jamison said. "The team, we went through a lot together but overall it was a good season. We had a good time with each other."
