Wisconsin moves up in polls

Badgers up to No. 16 in final regular season rankings

The University of Wisconsin football team is ranked No. 16 in the final regular season additions of the Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN coaches' polls. The Badgers (9-2) moved up one spot in each poll, ahead of Tennessee in the coaches' rankings and Florida State in the AP. The Volunteers lost Saturday, while UW holds a mere one point edge on the Seminoles in the AP poll.

Wisconsin next faces Georgia (9-2) in the Outback Bowl Jan. 1 in Tampa, Fla. The Bulldogs are No. 7 in the coaches' poll and No. 8 in the AP.

Georgia also finished No. 7 in the final Bowl Championship Series standings, while Wisconsin came in No. 17. All three rankings were announced Sunday.

Three other Big Ten teams made the BCS top 25: No. 12 Iowa, No. 13 Michigan and No. 25 Ohio State.

USC, Oklahoma and Auburn remained 1-2-3 in all three rankings.
