MacLeod earns WCHA honor

Fourth-ranked Wisconsin claimed a series sweep

Carla MacLeod, a senior defender on the University of Wisconsin women's hockey team, was named Western Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week Monday.

MacLeod led the Badgers to a road-sweep of Minnesota State over the weekend. On Saturday, MacLeod notched two goals in the Badgers' 4-1 win, including a game-winning power play goal and her third career short-handed goal. MacLeod helped Wisconsin kill four Maverick power play opportunities in Friday's 4-0 shutout victory in Mankato.

This is MacLeod's third career WCHA Player of the Week honor.
