Three Badgers pick up regional honors

Kabellis, Lindenmuth and Vermeulen honored

Sophomore midfielder Kara Kabellis and junior forwards Katy Lindenmuth and Amy Vermeulen each earned postseason accolades, making NSCAA/adidas Great Lakes regional teams.

"Kabellis was amazing on set plays, Lindenmuth was able to break down defenses for us and Vermeulen was such a consistent threat up top," head coach Dean Duerst said. "They proved all year long that it was hard to stop them, and that's why we were so successful."

Kabellis earned second-team honors on the regional team after picking up second-team all-conference honors. She was fourth on the team in points, with 15 points from six goals and three assists.

Lindenmuth, a midfielder/forward, received third-team recognition after earning 22 points on seven goals and eight assists.

Vermeulen led the Badger offense with 35 points on 12 goals and 11 assists and was named to Soccer Buzz's and Soccer America's teams of the week. She was also the Badgers' only first-team all-Big Ten selection.
