Volleyball finishes at No. 14

Badgers end year ranked for ninth straight year

The Wisconsin volleyball team, after falling to eventual NCAA Champion Stanford in the elite eight of the NCAA Tournament, finished the season ranked No. 14 in the final USA Today/CSTV Top 25 Coaches poll. The poll was released Wednesday. The Badgers also finished No. 13 in the Rich Kern Percentage Index, which follows a formula similar to that of the NCAA RPI and serves as a basis for determining seeding in the NCAA Tournament.

"This was one of those years when a team exceeds your expectations and the final polls reflect what great respect this program and the players earned," UW coach Pete Waite said. "This was a great season and we are really looking forward to seeing what this group can do next year."
