Men's basketball on cusp of rankings, men's hockey slips

The Wisconsin men's basketball team, despite beating then-No. 18/13 Alabama last Wednesday, has not re-entered the Top 25 poll. The Badgers (9-2) received 150 points in the Associated Press poll, good for 27th place, and 49 points in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll, putting UW in a tie for No. 26.

The men's hockey program, after losing to Ferris State last 5-3 New Year's Day and officially tying with Yale 1-1 the night before, fell from No. 4 to No. 6 in the Division I Men's Poll.

The Wisconsin women's hockey team remained at No. 4 in the poll. The Badgers next play Quinnipiac in Hamden, Conn., this weekend.
