Badgers will look to bounce back

Wisconsin has time to regroup after tough loss

MADISON – The University of Wisconsin men's basketball team will not practice Wednesday. It is a much-needed break, UW coach Bo Ryan said following the Badgers' 75-65 loss to Illinois at the Kohl Center here Tuesday night.

"We had two days to get ready. Illinois played Thursday. Tomorrow is our day off because we haven't had a day off," Ryan said. "We had to practice Sunday because we played Saturday on the road."

The Badgers won at Michigan Saturday afternoon, flew back to Madison Saturday night and practiced Sunday and Monday nights before playing the top ranked team in the country.

"So tell them to get a day's rest, take care of business, be ready to go Thursday," Ryan said. "That's what competitors do."

Wisconsin will return to practice Thursday in preparation for its game at Penn State Saturday.

That day of practice will include a look at the game film from Tuesday night.

"This is definitely a game we are going to learn from and, you know, you have to learn from it now and move on," senior forward Mike Wilkinson said. "You can't just dwell on this because there is a lot of basketball left."
