Wrestling: Badgers qualify eight

Wisconsin ties for fifth at Big Ten Championships

Eight Wisconsin wrestlers qualified for the NCAA Championships as the 10th-ranked Badgers finished tied for fifth at the Big Ten Championships in Iowa City, Iowa this weekend.

Freshman Craig Henning reached the championship match at the 149 weight class but lost a 3-2 decision to Michigan's Eric Tannenbaum to finish second.

Wisconsin received third-place finishes from junior Tom Clum (133), senior Brady Reinke (184) and junior Ryan Flaherty (197).

Sophomore Jake Donar finished fourth at 165, while junior Kelly Flaherty (174) finished fifth. Sophomores Tyler Turner (157) and Collin Cudd (125) took seventh.

The eight Badgers will compete in the NCAA Championships March 17-19 in St. Louis.
