"Coaches have been coming to the school," Green said in a telephone interview Wednesday night. "Like (Illinois coach) Ron Zook came today. The Ohio State coach is coming in Friday and the Bowling Green coach came in."
Green, a 6-foot-2, 215-pounder, is receiving interest from a number of Midwest programs, including Illinois, Louisville, Notre Dame, Iowa, Ohio State, Purdue, Bowling Green, Minnesota, Northwestern and Wisconsin.
He has scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Purdue and most recently Minnesota. "And Iowa's close to offering," he said.
"My favorites would have to be the schools that offered me," Green said. "But outside of that I just like any school. I don't want to like put one in first and one in 10th. I just like all of them like equal."
Green said he had 44 solo tackles, 23 assists, 14 tackles for loss, eight sacks and one interception as a junior. He bench presses 285 pounds and was timed at 4.57 seconds in the 40-yard dash in January.
At North Chicago, Green teamed with O'Brien Schofield, a 2005 linebacker prospect who signed with Wisconsin.
"We talked a lot about the recruiting process," Green said. "He just told me about how it is at Wisconsin…
"And I'm really interested in them too."
Green has been receiving mail from Wisconsin this spring. "I went to a junior day (in March). I went to football games, basketball games, I went to a three-day camp (last summer). So I've been up there a lot."
In addition to Wisconsin, Green camped at Illinois last summer. He does not have any camp plans yet for this summer, but he will attend the Nike camp in Ann Arbor, Mich. May 7.
Green carries a 3.5 grade-point average. He scored an 18 on his first try at the ACT; he is awaiting the results on a second attempt.
